Over 17,500 people in 2015 Belfast MarathonOver 17,500 people took part in this year's Belfast Marathon on the Bank Holiday Monday 4th May. The sun shone at 9am as they started from Belfast City Hall. The event includes the marathon, wheelchair race, team relays, fun run and an eight mile walk. This is the 34th Belfast marathon and is the Province's largest mass participation sporting event. Kenyan Joel Kipsang Kositany repeated his 2013 win as he won the men's race. Kipsang crossed the line in 2:19.36 which left him 53 seconds ahead of compatriot Gideon Kimosop. Hungarian Tamas Nagy was third in 2:24.22 with Belfast man Eddie McGinley securing fourth place in 2:24.55. Ethiopia's Berhan Gebrenmichael won the women's event in 2:40.57
