Belfast Commemorates 80th Anniversary of the BlitzLord Mayor of Belfast, Frank McCoubrey is pictured laying a wreath at the mass grave at Milltown Cemetery to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Blitz and to remember those who were killed in the German air raids in April and May 1941. The most devastating raid on Belfast took place on 15th April 1941 where nearly 1000 people lost their lives. A wreath was also placed at the mass grave in Belfast City Cemetery.
